CASE STUDY
The Challenge
When Asian Cajun was preparing to open its new Nashville restaurant, owner Kim Vo, needed to demonstrate to the fire marshal that the kitchen fire suppression system was functioning properly.
Although another fire protection company had previously serviced the equipment, that provider declined to return for the final fire inspection after receiving payment. This left the restaurant needing a qualified professional to demonstrate the system’s functionality and help secure final approval.
ICON's Solution
Michael, owner of Icon Fire & Safety, stepped in to help. He met with Kim, inspected and tested the kitchen suppression system, and returned for the fire marshal’s final inspection to perform the required functional demonstration.
ICON provided this assistance at no charge, enabling Asian Cajun to successfully pass its fire inspection.
That initial interaction established a trusted relationship, and Icon has since become Asian Cajun’s preferred partner for fire and life safety services.
During a subsequent review, ICON also examined deficiencies previously recorded in the BRYCER IROL inspection reporting system. After conducting an independent inspection, ICON determined that many of the flagged items did not require the recommended corrective work.
Rather than recommending unnecessary repairs or replacements, ICON focused on the work genuinely needed to maintain compliance and safety
The Results
Passed final fire inspection: Successfully demonstrated the kitchen suppression system’s functionality to the fire marshal, allowing the restaurant to pass its final fire inspection.
No-charge assistance: Provided the inspection support and functional demonstration without charging the customer.
Thousands in unnecessary costs avoided: Identified previously recommended repairs and replacements that were not needed, saving the customer thousands of dollars.
Greater confidence: Provided an independent, technically informed assessment of the restaurant’s fire safety equipment.
A lasting partnership: Earned the customer’s trust by prioritizing safety, compliance, and honest recommendations over additional revenue.
Our Commitment
At ICON Fire & Safety, we believe protecting customers means more than inspecting equipment or completing a service call. It means providing sound technical guidance, honest recommendations, and only the work that’s truly necessary.
Our mission is simple: “Love customers through careful conformance.”
Our relationship with Kim and Asian Cajun is one example of how we put that mission into practice every day.
